**Summary**: This National Center for Equitable Care for Elders webinar will focus on improving the recognition of early signs and symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) through effective communication with family (also known as informal) caregivers. Health center participants will consider their role in community-based early dementia care as the population of older adults continues to grow.

**After completing this session, participants will be able to**:

- Understand the central role of family caregivers in the health and well-being of older patients
- Describe factors that contribute to undetected cognitive impairment and dementia in primary care settings
- Utilize shared strategies for engaging caregivers to differentiate between age-related changes and initial symptoms of ADRD
