# Sexual Health and Wellness for LGBTQIA+ Older Adults

## About This Webinar Series

People remain at risk for HIV infection as they age, but older adults are less likely to be tested for HIV and could therefore experience a higher incidence of comorbid health conditions.

This two-part webinar series, in collaboration with the [National LGBT Health Education Center](https://www.lgbthealtheducation.org/), explored the importance of discussing safe sexual practices with LGBTQIA+ older adults and explained the value of connecting at-risk individuals to HIV prevention methods like PrEP.

## Learning Objectives

- Describe misconceptions of sexual activity and stigma in all older adults including those who are sexual and gender minorities
- Recognize the social determinants of health affecting older LGBTQIA+ individuals and how they can impact their care
- Identify clinical strategies for HIV and STI prevention in a primary care setting and explore screening considerations specific to an older adult population
