Emergency Preparedness for Community-Dwelling Older Adults

Older adults experience unique challenges in navigating community health emergencies and can be disproportionally impacted by events such as heat waves or viral pandemics. This learning collaborative focused on materials to encourage health centers to effectively engage with this patient population to promote safety planning and information sharing.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the intersections of federal, state and local entities during a community health crisis.
  • Identify populations of older adults most at risk during a community health crisis.
  • Examine the challenges, risks, and ethics of serving as a frontline provider in a global pandemic.
