Emergency Preparedness for Community-Dwelling Older Adults

Older adults experience unique challenges in navigating community health emergencies and can be disproportionally impacted by events such as heat waves or viral pandemics. This learning collaborative will encourage health centers to effectively engage with this patient population to promote safety planning and information sharing.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this learning collaborative, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the intersections of federal, state and local entities during a community health crisis.
  • Identify populations of older adults most at risk during a community health crisis.
  • Examine the challenges, risks, and ethics of serving as a frontline provider in a global pandemic.

Date and Time

This four-session web-based learning collaborative will take place Thursdays from 1-2 p.m. EST on June 4, June 11, June 18, and June 25.

Note: SurveyMonkey will be performing site-wide maintenance throughout Saturday, May 23. During this time, the registration survey will be unavailable. If you encounter any issues beyond May 23, please contact the NCECE team.

HRSA-funded health center and health center program look-alike personnel are encouraged to apply for enrollment in this learning collaborative. If you are unsure if your organization is a HRSA-funded health center or look-alike, you can check out HRSA's Find a Health Center resource for clarification.
