Informal caregivers of older adult patients often do not receive adequate support for the range of medical and personal care tasks required of them. This may lead to feelings of isolation ultimately negatively affecting their own health.
This webinar will educate participants about engaging family caregivers as a part of the healthcare team and the value of promoting opportunities for their own self-care.
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Review the state of family caregiving, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Identify and assess stressors associated with unpaid family caregiving
- Partner with community programs as a response to caregiver needs
Intended Audience: Health center providers and staff who care for older adults
