Summary: This National Center for Equitable Care for Elders webinar will provide participants with first steps to prepare for climate-related threats to the health and well-being of older adults and their caregivers. Participants will review the intersectionality of environmental risks and aging and consider emerging approaches to preparedness.
After completing this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe climate-sensitive physical and mental health risks for older adults
- Consider the role of health centers in supporting climate resilient communities that support healthy aging
- Apply shared strategies for identifying local risk factors and plan for extreme weather and other environmental events impacting older patients
